Apply for Rental Assistance
Please note: FISH can only consider applications from those who live within Sonoma Valley (from Schellville to Kenwood). For additional resources in Sonoma County click here.
Complete the application form below and our rental program volunteers will determine which type of assistance may be applicable. We use this form for both our regular F.I.S.H. rent assistance program and for the new CDBG funded program.
When you submit the FISH rent assistance form, you will be notified that your application has been received. Applications are processed in the order received (so calling FISH will not make your application be processed faster, and can even slow things down). Within a week, you will be called by a FISH volunteer and asked for a copy of rent and income verification. When contacted, please answer your phone or return the call as soon as possible. FISH will never ask you for your immigration status, social security number, bank account numbers, credit card or debit card numbers, or passwords.
FISH has recently been awarded CDBG funds to support low-income tenants impacted by COVID-19. Assistance can include back payments of rent and past-due utilities. Eligible applicants must demonstrate that they have not been able to pay for one or more months during the period of March 1, 2020 to present, and will need to certify that the reason is related to COVID-19. If you received "CARES Act" funded assistance from any agency between October 1 and December 31, you are NOT eligible for the CDBG program. Households must document that they meet the following conditions:
2. Be a tenant unable to pay their rent and/or utility bills as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
3. Live in Sonoma Valley between Sears Point and Kenwood.
